City of the Volsci in Latium at the source of the Melpis, on the via Latina between Casinum and Sora, today A. (Frosinone). Praefectura (Cic. Planc. 8), then municipium of the tribus Teretina. Monuments: parts of the city wall, remains of an ancient building below S. Marco, Roman mosaic, aqueduct.
